Anodyne Therapy

contact us concerning Anodyne Therapy

Thirty percent of all people over the age of sixty (60) have chronic pain and/or circulatory problems in their extremities causing functional deficits that interfere with their activities of daily living. Monochromatic Infrared Energy is used to increase circulation, and reduce pain. Wounds heal more quickly. The risk of falls is reduced.

Who Can Benefit from the Treatment Program?

Any patient with pain or circulatory compromise interfering with their sleep or other daily activities may benefit from the program.

What is the Treatment Program Protocol?

The program typically consists of 3 therapy sessions per week and lasts 4 weeks – although some patients may need more treatments. The therapy consists of the use of a non-invasive medical device that increases local circulation and reduces pain along with balance, gait, strengthening and flexibility physical therapy exercises. This 12-session protocol has been clinically proven over twelve years on thousands of patients to provide the best outcomes. An ongoing home treatment program may be recommended after the twelve sessions are complete.

Will Insurance Cover This Therapy?

Medicare and most insurance companies cover physical therapy programs when prescribed by your physician although there may be some out of pocket costs. Patients should ask their insurance carrier if their insurance plan covers physical therapy.

Is This Treatment Safe for Everyone?

Some of the modalities we use should not be used directly over a cancerous tumor or near the womb in pregnancy. However they can be used safely over pins, implants, screws, pacemakers and defibrillators.

Are There Any Serious Side Effects or Drug Interactions?

There are no known drug interactions. However, if you have diabetes, sometimes less diabetes medication is required as you increase your activity levels. It is important to check blood sugars regularly during this program and reduce diabetes medication as needed. The only known side effect of the modalities we use is a slight potential for a topical burn.
